BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Rutgers junior
A'nan Bridgett earned First Team All-America status in the long jump as he placed fourth at the 2022 NCAA Indoor Championships on Friday.
Sincere Robinson also competed in the long jump at nationals, earning Second Team All-American honors as a freshman.
The pair gave Rutgers track and field two NCAA Indoor Championship qualifiers on the men's side for the third-straight season. Hosted by the University of Alabama at Birmingham, the meet was held at the Birmingham CrossPlex.

Bobby Farrell. "He had an outstanding series. He's never stopped getting better and Sincere as only a freshman competed very well just missing the finals. Coach [Corey] Crawford has done a great job with them, the future is bright."
Bridgett recorded a distance of 7.80m (25' 7.25") in his final jump to solidify a fourth-place finish. It marked the second time Bridgett earned All-America honors after receiving Second Team accolades at the 2021 NCAA Outdoor Championships. Robinson placed 10th with a distance of 7.10m (23' 3.5") as he earned Second Team All-American status.
The NCAA Indoor Championships caps off a record-breaking season for Rutgers track and field, highlighted by a total of 10 school record performances, including nine on the women's side. Freshman distance runner
Alex Carlson capture four individual school records (800, 1,000, mile and 3,000) and was part of two relays that reset the Rutgers time in the DMR and 4x800. The Scarlet Knights also secured four medals at the Big Ten Championships, including gold in the men's long jump, and silvers each in the women's pole vault, and men's and women's high jumps.
Bridgett, the reigning Big Ten Champion in the long jump, made his second appearance at the national championship meet after advancing to the 2021 NCAA Outdoor Championships. He previously earned a pair of trips to the NCAA East Regionals during the 2019 and 2021 outdoor seasons. Bridgett entered Friday's competition with the sixth-best mark in the long jump, recording a personal-best distance of 7.92m (26' 0"). He also made history in 2022, tying the school record time in the 60-meter dash on three occasions.
Robinson closed out his first season 'On the Banks,' competing in the high jump, 60-meter and on relays, in addition to the long jump. His performance at the Rutgers Open held at the Armory Track and Field Center earned him a trip to nationals as he recorded the 12th-best mark in the country, jumping a personal-best 7.85m (25' 9.25").
The men's team has sent a pair of Scarlet Knights to nationals for the third-straight season. Prior to Bridgett and Robinson qualifying, Rutgers sent
Perry Christie and
Taj Burgess to the 2020 and 2021 NCAA Indoor Championships. The duo made history in 2020 when they set the record for most individual competitors on the men's side to qualify for the same NCAA Indoor Championships.
