DiGeorgio Named Brooks Wallace Shortstop of the Week

PISCATAWAY, N.J. – After going 10-for-21, blasting two home runs, scoring 6 runs and driving in another 10, Danny DiGeorgio was named Brooks Wallace Player of the Week on Tuesday. The award is given out each week to the top-performing shortstop in the country.
DiGeorgio got his week started off strong in an 18-1 blowout win over Wagner in the team's home opener. After hitting a two-run home run in the first inning, DiGeorgio hit his second in as many innings with a three-run shot in the second inning. He finished the game 3-for-3 with two homers, 4 runs scored and 5 RBI.
He stayed hot in the series opener at Hawaii, going 4-for-5 with 2 RBI and a run scored. DiGeorgio finished the series 7-for-18 with 2 runs scored and 5 RBI.
On the season, DiGeorgio batting .400 with an OPS of 1.201 and leads Rutgers with 20 RBI. He is also 5-for-5 on stolen bases.
