PHILADELPHIA, PA. – Competing in its third road match over the last six days and across three different states, Rutgers tennis fell to Penn on Sunday afternoon by a score of 4-0. The match was rescheduled from January 29 of this season, being added to the Scarlet Knights week-long spring break trip.Â
Although sophomores
Daira Cardenas and
Alisa Prinyarux were ahead at No. 3 doubles, the Quakers were able to manage wins at No. 1 and 2 doubles first to claim the team team point.
The Scarlet Knights found momentum in singles play. Senior
Kristiana Zahare was playing strong at No. 6 singles, having won the first set by a score of 6-3. Zahare was then leading in the second, 4-3, before Penn clinched the match. Â
Freshman
Minchae Kim had also secured win in her first set at No. 4 singles by a score of 7-5 and was in her second set when the match was settled at 4-0.

Rutgers is back on the road to resume Big Ten play, visiting Northwestern on Saturday, March 26 and Illinois on Sunday, March 27.
