Box Score EAST BRUNSWICK, N.J. – Rutgers tennis fell to Purdue on Friday at the East Brunswick Racquet Club. The Boilermakers claimed the four singles victories for the 4-1 win after the Scarlet Knights started the day taking two of three doubles matches for the opening team point.
Minchae Kim and
Sydney Kaplan started the day with a strong 6-2 victory at second doubles, followed by duo
Tess Fisher and
Alisa Prinyarux finishing a 6-4 victory to claim the doubles point. Fisher and Kim both grabbed their team-leading eighth doubles wins of the season on separate courts on Friday.
At No. 6 singles, sophomore
Alisa Prinyarux led with a victory in the first set, 6-4, in a match that went unfinished. Despite losing the first set at No. 4 singles, senior
Sydney Kaplan made a comeback in the second set with a 6-4 triumph. However, they left the game unfinished due to Purdue's clinch.
The Scarlet Knights will conduct their last home match of the season against Indiana on Sunday, April 17 at 11 a.m. Seniors
Tess Fisher,
Sydney Kaplan, and
Kristiana Zahare will be honored before the match on Senior Day.Â
