PISCATAWAY, N.J. (May 6, 2022) – Rutgers Athletics has secured the services of Collegiate Sports Solutions (CSS) to lead its national search for the next head women's basketball coach to replace Hall of Fame head coach C. Vivian Stringer, who announced her retirement in April. Assisting CSS founder and CEO Jeff Schemmel in the search is former head coach and longtime athletic director Debbie Yow.

Rutgers women's basketball has appeared in 26 NCAA Tournaments, dating back to its first trip in 1986. The program has advanced to a pair of Final Fours, including the National Championship game in 2007. The team defeated Texas to win the final AIAW National Championship in 1982, marking the first team national championship at Rutgers University.
 
The next leader of the women's basketball program will be the third full-time head coach in program history, following the careers of Stringer and Theresa Grentz, both members of the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame. Eight wins away from 1,000 program victories, the Scarlet Knights are seeking entrance to an elite NCAA club that has just 18 members with 1,000 wins heading into the 2022-23 season.
 
CSS, a leading collegiate consulting provider, previously partnered with Rutgers Athletics to perform a comprehensive operational review of the Department in numerous areas, including examining programs, policies and procedures. The firm released its complete findings in 2019.
