Big Ten preseason honors include three Scarlet Knights
PISCATAWAY, N.J. (August 31, 2022) – The Big Ten released its preseason honors for women's golf on Wednesday and the list includes three members of the Rutgers women's golf program.
Leigha Devine, Rikke Nordvik and Lucrezia Rossettin were all named Big Ten Golfers to Watch by the conference.
Leigha Devine | Sr. | Windsor, Colo.
Devine enters the 2022-23 season on the heels of an incredibly successful summer. Devine finished t-18 in stroke play at the US Women's Amateur in July, becoming the first Scarlet Knight to advance to the match play portion of the event, where she advanced to the Round of 32. Devine was also victorious in the Colorado Match Play Championship and was runner-up in the Colorado Stroke Play Championship.
Rikke Nordvik | Jr. | Stavanger, Norway
Nordvik is looking to build on a strong sophomore season that saw her collect six top-20 finishes for RU. In the spring season, she led the Scarlet Knights with a t-17 finish at the Big Ten Championships, while also finishing t-7 at the Lake Oconee Invitational and t-17 at the Tulane Classic. In the fall, Nordvik finished t-20 at the Badger Invitational and t-15 at the Nittany Lion Invitational.
Lucrezia Rossettin | So. | Genova, Italy
Rossettin gained valuable experience as a true freshman, competing in 11 tournaments for Rutgers last season. In the Golfweek Red Sky Classic, she shot a career-low 69 (-3) and finished t-13 in the event. During the spring season, Rossettin won two of her three matches in Big Ten Match Play and picked up a t-24 finish at the Jackrabbit Invitational.
