STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. – Rutgers track and field returned to indoor competition, posting a pair of school records for the second-straight meet as the group traveled to the Ocean Breeze Athletic Complex for the Wagner Invitational. The Scarlet Knights also earned six combined event wins.
"I'm really proud of the way we came out and competed fresh off of winter break," Bobby Farrell, director of track and field and cross country. "For some this was a chance to get some work in and practice our execution. Others are building their way back from injury or working to earn a spot on some of our travel squads. But we still had two exciting school record performances by A'nan and Dennisha, and a bunch more personal records and top-10 all-time performances."
Bridgett and Page highlighted the day for the Scarlet Knights as the pair earned school records in the men's and women's 60-meter dash, respectively. Rutgers posted a pair of school records on the track in the season opener, moving the programs count to four school records on the season.
Bridgett posted the fastest qualifying time in the 60-meters, running 6.74 in the prelims, shattering the previous school record of 6.79 which he tied on several occasions during the 2022 season.
Page won the 60-meter dash in school record fashion as she clocked a time of 7.33 to top the previous record set in 2016 by Gabrielle Farquharson at the Big Ten Championships.
The Scarlet Knights picked up six combined wins Friday with a pair on the men's side, while the women turned in four winning performances.
