Women's Basketball to Host Annual Play4Kay Game on February 17

PISCATAWAY, N.J. – The Rutgers women's basketball team will host its annual PLAY4KAY GAME on Saturday, Feb. 17 against Wisconsin at 2 p.m. The contest will be presented by RWJBarnabas Health and Rutgers Cancer Institute of New Jersey.  
 

Through PLAY4KAY, former NC State head coach Kay Yow saw a way to bring communities together and honor cancer warriors in the fight against ALL cancers affecting women. One woman is diagnosed with cancer every minute and Rutgers University, along with head coach Coquese Washington, are united in the fight against all cancers affecting women.  

The Scarlet Knights will celebrate cancer survivors and warriors throughout the game as well as during a special halftime ceremony.  

Rutgers' players will wear special PINK uniforms during the contest against the Badgers and all fans are encouraged to wear PINK as well.   

In addition to the PLAY4KAY GAME, the Scarlet Knights will celebrate many other theme games throughout the 2023-24 campaign, presented by Prudential.  

On Saturday, Dec. 9 (4 p.m.), RU will go up against the defending Big Ten Regular Season Champions in No. 9/9 Indiana for its Blackout game, presented by Prudential. Everyone is encouraged to wear black to Jersey Mike's Arena.  

Then on Friday, Jan. 5 (6 p.m.), Rutgers will host its Scarlet Out against the 2023 Big Ten Tournament Champions and NCAA Championship Runner-up, No. 5/5 Iowa. All fans at the contest, which is presented by RWJ Barnabas Health, should wear red to support the Scarlet Knights.  

RU will honor Black History Month with its Black Excellence game against No. 11/14 Maryland on Tuesday, Feb. 6 (8:30 p.m.). The team will wear special celebratory jerseys during the outing.  

As already announced, Rutgers will celebrate the life of Nikki McCray-Penson versus Auburn, on Sunday, Nov. 12 (5 p.m.). The team will honor her memory throughout the contest and her immeasurable impact on women's basketball.  

On Wednesday, Nov. 29, the Scarlet Knights will welcome children and schools from across New Jersey for Recess Day, presented by NJEA, versus Delaware State. The game will tip off at 11 a.m.  

Against No. 5/8 Virginia Tech on Sunday, Dec. 17 (5:30 p.m.), RU will celebrate the winter holidays with its Holiday Hoops Game. The squad will observe this festive time of year with gift giveaways and decorations on the concourse. Rutgers will also observe Youth Spirit Day against the Hokies, with youth cheer and dance performances throughout the contest. 

To end the 2023-24 regular season, the Scarlet Knights will host Northwestern on Sunday, March 3 (2 p.m.) in its Senior Day/Thank You Fans game, presented by the R Fund. The team will recognize the senior class in addition to paying thanks to fans for their support all season long with concession discounts and gift giveaways.
