Women's Basketball Announces Advance Sellout of Iowa Game on Jan. 5

PISCATAWAY, N.J. – The Rutgers women's basketball team officially sold out its game against No. 4/4 Iowa on Friday, Jan. 5 at 6 p.m. The contest marks the sixth advance sellout in program history.  

The game is presented by RWJBarnabas Health and the entire 2023-24 season is presented by Prudential. 

This is the first advance sellout since Feb. 27, 2006, when the Scarlet Knights hosted UConn, welcoming 8,053 fans to Jersey Mike's Arena. All six of the program's advance sellouts have come against the Huskies with the first-ever happening on Feb. 18, 1996, with 7,793 fans in attendance.

There are also limited student tickets remaining at this time for the contest. You can still claim a free student ticket here. You must be logged into your student account to view. Students have the ability to purchase up to two additional tickets for $15 each.  

RU will welcome the defending 2023 Big Ten Tournament Champions and NCAA Tournament Runner-up Hawkeyes for the first time since Feb. 24, 2022. For this season's contest on Jan. 5, Rutgers will celebrate with a Scarlet Out, encouraging all fans to wear red to the arena.  

Rutgers is celebrating its 50th season in program history during the 2023-24 campaign. Since their first season in 1974, the Scarlet Knights have proven they are a nationally elite program with a tradition of success. The program has appeared in 26 NCAA Tournaments in addition to four Sweet Sixteens, five Elite Eights, two Final Fours and one National Championship game.    

The Scarlet Knights just launched its 50 seasons website, where you can scroll through photo and video galleries, check out a timeline of the program's history, view archives statistics and Alumni Spotlights. Fans can also submit their favorite Scarlet Knights memory from through the years. You can access all this information and more here.
