Rowing Reveals 2024 Schedule

NEW BRUNSWICK, N.J. – Rutgers rowing has released its exhibition and competition schedule for the 2024 spring season.

The Scarlet Knights will row in one scrimmage to start off the spring slate on March 16 at home against Temple and the Princeton Lightweights on the Raritan River.

The official 2024 season opens with back-to-back weekends on the Cooper River in Cherry Hill, New Jersey, the site of last season's NCAA Championships. The Scarlet Knights will take on boats from Penn, Ohio State, and Yale on Sat., March 23 at the Big Ten/Ivy Dust Up before returning to the Cooper River on Sat., March 30 for the annual Doc Hosea Invitational.

The Scarlet Knights take on the Ivy League Invitational on April 12 and 13 on Lake Carnegie in Princeton, New Jersey. Rutgers then enters the fourth annual Big Ten Invitational on April 19 and 20, held in Sarasota, Florida for the third consecutive year before heading up to the Women's Eastern Sprints in Worcester, Massachusetts on Sun., May 5.

The Big Ten Championships take place in Baraboo, Wisconsin on Sunday, May 19, followed by the NCAA Championships from Friday, May 31 through Sunday, June 2 in Bethel, Ohio.

The Scarlet Knights finished the 2023 season 15th in the country with all three boats racing to second-place finishes in the C finals (14th overall) at the NCAA Championships, the fourth consecutive appearance for the Scarlet Knights at the national regatta. The Scarlet Knights entered the national championships with just nine returners from the previous season's NCAA boats, with the strong depth of NCAA newcomers keeping the trend of Rutgers outracing its seeding heading into the NCAA Championships. All three 14th-place boats finished ahead of their seed (V8 - 17th, 2V8 - 15th, V4 - 16th).  Rutgers placed fourth at the 2023 Big Ten Championship winning four medals at the conference regatta and claiming Big Ten gold for a second-straight year after the 3rd Varsity 4 won its championship race. The Varsity 8 placed fourth, while the 2nd Varsity 8 and Varsity 4 raced to bronze medals, matching their best results at the Big Ten Championships.
