GAINESVILLE, Fla. and PRINCETON, N.J. – Rutgers track and field competed at a pair of East coast meets with a group traveling to Florida for the Tom Jones Memorial, while others stayed locally for the Larry Ellis Invitational in Princeton.
Kassidy Johnson reset the school record in the 800-meter run, a feat she achieved earlier this season at the Raliegh Relays. Johnson placed third overall in the event as she shaved three seconds off her previous record.
The Scarlet Knights posted four event wins between the two meets over the weekend. However, inclement weather in the New Jersey area resulted in several Saturday afternoon events being cancelled at the Larry Ellis Invitational.
