WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. ā The No. 13-seeded Rutgers women's tennis team (11-13, 1-10 B1G) was downed by the No. 5 seed Northwestern (12-12, 7-3 B1G), 4-1, in the second round of the Big Ten Tournament on Thursday afternoon. Ā

Northwestern came away with the doubles point to start off the match after winning decisions on courts No. 1 and No. 3. Ā
Mai Nguyen and Minchae Kim were up 4-2 on the middle court when the Wildcats clinched the point. Ā
SinglesĀ
Northwestern went onto win three more singles matches to solidify the match win. Ā
Nguyen picked up her second singles win of the Big Ten Tournament with a dominant 6-3, 6-3 victory on the fifth court. The win marks her eighth of the season. Ā
