Christian Braswell was selected in the sixth round, pick No. 202, of the NFL Draft by the Jacksonville Jaguars. Braswell becomes the 91
st Scarlet Knight to join the NFL after playing for head coach
Greg Schiano.
Returning after missing the 2021 season due to injury, Braswell picked off a pass in his first game for Rutgers in the win at Boston College. Overall, he ranked third in the Big Ten with 1.17 passes defended per game. That included team highs with 11 pass breakups and three interceptions.
To seal the win over Indiana, Braswell recorded a pick-six late in the fourth quarter and contributed a career-high four pass breakups at Maryland. The performance garnered honorable mention All-Big Ten in the media vote and second team all-conference based on
Pro Football Focus grades and advanced statistics.
The Washington, D.C., native competed in the Hula Bowl.
