JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Rutgers sophomores
Chloe Timberg and
Sincere Robinson will represent track and field at the 2023 NCAA Outdoor Championships in Austin, Texas after qualifying during the East Preliminary Round. It marks the second-straight year that the Scarlet Knights qualify competitors on both the men's and women's sides.

Rutgers qualified a program record 19 competitors for the 2023 NCAA East Preliminary Round in Jacksonville, Florida beginning on Wednesday through Saturday.

Robinson gave Rutgers its first NCAA Championship qualifier on Wednesday as he placed ninth with a jump of 7.55m (24' 9.25") solidify his trip to Austin. It marks his first appearance at the outdoor meet after qualifying for the indoor championship in 2022 and 2023. Robinson captured the outdoor school record earlier this season at the Rutgers Relays on April 22.

Timberg added the second qualifier of the week as she paced the field and tied for the top mark in the pole vault on Thursday. The two-time Big Ten Champion is making her second-straight appearance at the outdoor championships and previously qualified for the indoor competition in 2023. Timberg cleared 4.22m (13' 10") to book her ticket to Austin, Texas for the 2023 Outdoor Championships. Â
