PISCATAWAY, N.J. — Rutgers third baseman Payton Lincavage was named one of the nine winners of the Rawlings Gold Glove Award for collegiate softball it was announced by the National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) on Wednesday. The award recognizes the best defensive players in the country at their respective position.
Recipients of the Rawlings Gold Glove Awards, presented by the NFCA, were selected by the NFCA Division I All-American Committee during the All-American selection meeting. The selection committee utilized advanced fielding analytics, fielding statistics, strength of schedule and compilations of video to closely examine finalists and select the winners at every defensive position.

Lincavage, a Second Team All-Big Ten honoree, helped Rutgers to the most wins (32) since 1994 and its best start for the program (8-0) since 1980. RU returned to the Big Ten Tournament behind a victory over No. 18/19 and Big Ten champion Northwestern, along with series sweeps of Illinois and Maryland. At the corner, the third baseman committed only one error, with zero errors in Big Ten Conference play, over the course of 130 chances in 57 games. Lincavage held a .992 fielding percentage and was involved in six of RU's 23 double plays.
