Tina Celik To Compete at U23 European Championships

PISCATAWAY, N.J. – Rising Rutgers junior Tina Celik will be competing for her native Slovenia at the 2023 U23 European Championships in Dublin, Ireland on August 11-13. She will be in the water for the 50 breast on August 11 and the 100 breast on August 12.
Celik holds the fourth-fastest time "On The Banks" in the 100 breast having dropped 1.11 seconds during her career and the fifth-fastest time in the 200 breast knocking off 2.03 seconds off her time in her two seasons. Additionally, the Scarlet Knight has appeared twice on the Big Ten Championship podium helping the 400 medley relay team to a seventh-place performance and the 200 medley relay team to an eighth-place finish in 2022. At the 2023 championships, Celik landed fifth in the B final of the 100 breast.
Prior to arriving at Rutgers, the Slovenian Federation swimmer was the 2016 European Junior National Champion in the 50 breast and took third in the 50m breast at the 2017 European Junior Championships along with second in the 50 breast and third in the 50 fly and 100 fly at the 2019 Slovenian National Championships.
