
Three Divers Compete on 1-Meter at NCAA Championships

ATLANTA – Rutgers had three divers in action on the first day of diving competition at the NCAA Championships. Katerina Hoffman, Bailee Sturgill and Sephora Ford were in action on the 1-Meter board.
Katerina Hoffman was RU's highest scorer of the day, scoring a 254.90 to place 24th. Hoffman was previously the Zone A Champion in the 1M dive and was eighth in the event at the Big Ten Championships. She improved her standing from NCAAs last year, having placed 39th in 1M last year.
Sturgill was just behind Hoffman, placing 25th with a score of 253.55. She had previously finished third on 1M at Zone A and reached the podium with a seventh place finish in the event at the Big Ten Championships. She improved her standing from NCAAs last year, having placed 37th in 1M last year.
Sephora Ford finished in 28th place on 1M, scoring a 253.10. The team captain was making her first competition on 1M at NCAAs, having been an NCAA Qualifier last year on 3M and Platform.
Rutgers' divers are back in action on Friday and Saturday. All three divers will compete Friday on the 3M board. Ford and Sturgill will be in action Saturday on Platform. Diving prelims each day start at 12:15 pm.
