WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind – Rutgers women's golf finished in 10th place at the Boilermaker Classic on Tuesday afternoon, wrapping up the team's first event of the fall season.
The Scarlet Knights shot an 894 (297-297-300) on the week and were led on the individual leaderboard by
Leigha Devine, who fired a 3-under 69 in the final round for a 3-over 219 (72-78-69), good for a t-17 finish.
"The final day of the tournament was a great opportunity for me to see what was possible," Devine said. "The weather was great and the greens were firm and fast. Today I was able to play within myself and build some momentum coming out of our first event of the fall. I think it was a solid first event for us as we all played some good stretches of golf and we're ready to keep working and build off this performance."

Devine was able to find her game after an up-and-down first two rounds on Monday. She rolled in four birdies on Tuesday, including three on the back nine to shoot a 3-under 33 on the back. For the tournament, Devine put in nine total birdies and finished with a 3-over 219 (72-78-69).
Rikke Nordvik used a strong day one to propel herself to a t-37 finish, shooting 9-over 225 (72-73-80). She had three birdies in both the first and second rounds to have her in a tie for 15th heading into the final round. A third round 80 had Nordvik finish the tournament in a tie for 37th.
Making her Scarlet Knight debut,
Cathi Graf finished t-47th with an 11-over 227 (77-71-79). Her week was highlighted by a strong 1-under 71 in round two, in which she rolled in two birdies and carded 15 pars. She had multiple birdies in all three of her rounds.
Lucrezia Rossettin finished the tournament with Graf in a tie for 47th. She had a pair of birdies in the final round and six total on the week, finishing with an 11-over 227 (76-75-76).
In her collegiate debut, true freshman
Lorena Rossettin saw improvement in each of her rounds, shooting a 19-over 235 (80-79-76). Rossetting put in four birdies in her second round and had six on the week.
Rutgers returns to action with a return trip to the Badger Invitational from Sept. 17-19, where
Leigha Devine will look to defend her individual title from last fall.
