BETHLEHEM, Pa. – Rutgers cross country returned to competition on Saturday as the squad participated in the 50th Paul Short Run on the campus of Lehigh University.
Lorena David led the women's team, while
Jack Tavaglione paced the men.
Â
"Today was a solid checkpoint to mark the halfway point of the season," said
Nicol Starkes, associate head coach. "On the women's side,
Lorena David led the squad to beat a few teams ranked ahead of us in the Mid-Atlantic Region. On the men's side, unfortunately a majority of the team was involved in a pileup at a critical part of the race.
Jack Tavaglione led the squad to a 20-second 1-5 spread."
Â
David was the top finisher for the women for the third-straight race of the season, closing out the 6K race in 21:03.5 to place 58th in a field of more than 375 runners. Rounding out the scoring for the Scarlet Knights was
