Gymnastics Drops Dual to No. 11 Michigan

TOLEDO, Ohio - Rutgers gymnastics fell to No. 11 Michigan, 197.650-194.625, on Friday evening at the Elevate the Stage meet at the Huntington Center.
The Scarlet Knights were led by Emily Leese, who scored three events at 9.800 or above. The senior posted team-best marks of 9.800 on vault, 9.825 on beam, and 9.875 on floor. Her 9.825 on beam was tied with Stephanie Zannella for the team-high on Friday.
Avery Balser reached 9.8 or higher on bars for the seventh time this season. Grad transfer Katy Koopman scored her highest beam score as a Scarlet Knight with a 9.800. On floor, Harmony Webster reached 9.8+ for the third time this season with her 9.825 on the elevated stage.
Rutgers heads to the Big Five Meet to take on the rest of the conference on Fri., Feb. 23 at 6 p.m. at Penn State, facing off against Michigan State, Minnesota, Nebraska, and Ohio State.
