Swimming Captures Highest Relay Podium Finish On Day Two Of B1G Championships

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. -- Rutgers had its highest Big Ten relay podium finish to date, an appearance in the consolation finals of 1-meter, a top 10 time in the 200 IM and set a new USA Deaf Swimming record in the 50 free to highlight day two action at the 2024 Big Ten Championships at the Morgan J. Burke Aquatic Center.
| RELAY |
- The 400 medley relay squad gave Rutgers its highest relay podium finish since joining the Big Ten in 2014-15. The quartet of Valeria Egorova, Tina Celik, Martyna Piesko and Jade Smits combined for a time of 3:36.48 to take fifth.
- Egorova who led off the relay also captured an NCAA B cut with her 100 back time of 53.35.

| DIVING |
- Holly Prasanto reached the 1-meter consolation finals. She placed ninth in the preliminary round with a score of 264.45 just missing the top eight by 2.80 points. Prasanto finished 16th overall and eighth in the consolation final scoring a 223.75.

| SPRINTS |
- Brooke Thompson won her preliminary heat in 23.56 and set a new USA Deaf Swimming record in the process. She bested the previous record of 23.81 that she had set in 2021.
- Elysha Pribadi moved up the 200 IM all-time list "On The Banks" capturing a time of 2:01.37 for the fifth fastest time at Rutgers. Tina Celik also captured a new PR in the 200 IM hitting the wall in 2:03.08.

| DISTANCE |
- Four of Rutgers' five entries in the 500 free set personal bests. New PRs came from Megan Fox (4:53.91), Blanka Berecz (4:57.53), Orian Gablan (4:57.63) and Grace Weaver (5:00.45).

- Big Ten Championship action continues on day three with the 100 fly, 400 IM, 200 free, 100 breast, 100 back, 3-meter diving and 200 free relay.
