PISCATAWAY, N.J. – For the four-straight year, Rutgers track and field will send multiple qualifiers to the NCAA Indoor Championships as
Chloe Timberg and
Sincere Robinson advanced to this year's competition. Robinson is making his third-consecutive appearance at the indoor meet, while Timberg qualified for the second year in a row.
The 2024 NCAA Indoor Championships will be held Friday, March 8 and Saturday, March 9 at the Track at New Balance in Boston. The Scarlet Knights will make their appearance on Friday with Robinson competing in the long jump at 4 p.m., followed by Timberg in the pole vault at 6 p.m.
Under the leadership of
Bobby Farrell, director of track & field and cross country, Rutgers has secured an indoor national qualifier on both the men's and women's teams in the same year three times (2020, 2023 and 2024).
Timberg is coming off earning back-to-back gold medals at the conference championships. She also set the meet and school record for the second-straight time at the Big Ten Indoor Championships, besting her previous record with a height of 4.55m (14' 11"). Her current height ranks No. 2 in the nation heading into next week's competition.
Robinson finished runner-up at the 2024 Big Ten Indoor Championships in the long jump. It was his third career medal at the indoor conference meet after winning gold in 2023 and silver in 2022. He currently holds the No. 12 ranked jump in the nation, hitting 7.89m (25' 10.75") at the Bob Pollock Invitational.
