Chloe Timberg at 2024 NCAA Indoor Championships

Timberg Named Big Ten Field Athlete of the Year

Big Ten Champion also earned First Team All-America honors, closing out stellar junior campaign

PISCATAWAY, N.J. – Rutgers pole vaulter Chloe Timberg was named the 2024 Big Ten Field Athlete of the Year, capping off one of the most standout seasons in Scarlet Knights history.
 
Timberg earned bronze at the 2024 NCAA Indoor Championships on Friday, March 8, reaching a height of 4.45m (14' 7.25") at the Track at New Balance in Boston. For her performance, she was named First Team All-American.
 
Timberg claimed the first Big Ten postseason award for the Scarlet Knights since 2019. She set both the school and Big Ten Indoor Championships meet record, clearing 4.55m (14' 11") for the second-straight year to become a back-to-back Big Ten Indoor Champion.
 
Following the conference meet, Timberg was named Big Ten Field Athlete of the Championships, as selected by the conference head coaches. In addition, Timberg earned First Team All-Big Ten following the championships.
 
Reanda Richards was the most recent postseason award winner for the Scarlet Knights as she was named Big Ten Track Athlete of the Year and Freshman of the Year honors in 2019.
 
The Scarlet Knights open the 2024 outdoor season with throwers competing at the Black and Gold Invitational on the campus of UCF on Friday, March 15 and Saturday, March 16.
