RALEIGH, N.C. and PRINCETON, N.J. – Rutgers track and field concluded a split weekend at the Sam Howell Invitational on the Princeton campus Saturday, following the Raleigh Relays at NC State earlier in the week from Thursday through Saturday. The Scarlet Knights turned in several key performances, including a school record from Alex Carlson, as the squad continues to ramp up the outdoor season.
 
In the third weekend of the outdoor campaign, Rutgers sent a group of distance runners to the Raleigh Relays, an annual event that features some of the nation's top competition. Another portion of the team traveled to Princeton for the Sam Howell Invitational.
 
Carlson ran a school record time in the 1,500-meter at NC State on Friday, running a time of 4:16.31. This added an outdoor record to her resume as she currently holds three individual school records on the indoor track and is part of two record-breaking indoor relay teams.
 
On the men's side, Liam Tilton and Dan Pedretti both posted finishes on the top-10 list. Tilton ran 14:26.42, which ranks third all-time, while Pedretti registered a time of 14:36.20, which is seventh on the top-10 list. Lorena David also ran a top-10 all-time mark in the women's 5,000-meter, clocking a time of 17:14.54 to land ninth in the record books.
 
At the Sam Howell Invitational, secured a pair of individual victories with Alicia Campbell winning the shot put with a throw of 14.48m (47'6.25") and Bryce Tucker who finished first in the 400-meter hurdles in 52.28. Campbell also placed third in the hammer throw with a mark of 50.95m (167' 2").
 
The Scarlet Knights travel to the South Florida Invitational on April 5-6 on the campus of USF and the George Mason Invitational on April 6.
