PISCATAWAY, N.J. — After her first season in the Big Ten, Destiny Adams has earned her first Big Ten postseason honors. She was named to the All-Big Ten Second Team (Coaches) and an Honorable Mention (Media).
Kassondra Brown was also named the Rutgers women's basketball Sportsmanship Honoree.
The award for Adams marks the second consecutive season a Scarlet Knight has made the All-Big Ten Second Team (Coaches).
Adams has been a force on both ends of the floor for RU. On offense, she paces active players on the team in points per game (15.1) and ranks fifth in the Big Ten with 469 overall points.
The Manchester, New Jersey product has led the team in scoring 12 times this season and reached double-figure scoring 26 times including the last 16 games. In addition, the junior has netted 20+ points in six games. She scored a career-high 33 points versus Penn State (Jan. 14) to match the season-high for Rutgers.
Adams has recorded seven double-doubles, including four in conference play:
- 13 points, 17 rebounds vs. Monmouth (Nov. 6)
- 17 points, 12 rebounds vs. Wagner (Nov. 9)
- 17 points, 10 rebounds vs. La Salle (Dec. 5)
- 23 points, 13 rebounds vs. Purdue (Jan. 2)*
- 28 points, 10 rebounds vs. Michigan State (Jan. 30)*
- 21 points, 10 rebounds vs. Minnesota (Feb. 13)*
- 18 points, 10 rebounds vs. Wisconsin (Feb. 17)*

On defense, Adams leads the Scarlet Knights off the glass, averaging 7.4 rebounds per game. She also sits fifth in the conference, totaling 230 boards. The forward has led the team in rebounding in 15 outings this campaign and reached 10+ boards seven times. She also tops the Scarlet Knights with 50 steals.
Looking Ahead
Rutgers will face Minnesota in the first round of the Big Ten Tournament on Wednesday, March 6. The contest will begin 25 minutes after the first game (6:30 p.m. ET) and will be streamed live on Peacock.
