Scarlet Knights split weekend between Virginia and South Carolina

CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. and COLUMBIA, S.C. – Rutgers distance runner Alex Carlson improved on her school record in the 1,500-meter, while Alicia Campbell notched her second career record with the top mark in the hammer as the Scarlet Knights wrapped competition on a spilt weekend.

RU secured a total of 12 performances on the all-time list in addition to the two school records. The Scarlet Knights sent the distance squad to the Virginia Challenge on Friday, April 19 at UVA, while the rest of the squad competed at the USC Outdoor Open on Saturday, April 20 on the campus of the University of South Carolina.

Carlson won the 1,500-meter, shaving more than two seconds off her previous time to improve her school record time to 4:14.04.
