PISCATAWAY, N.J. – Rutgers football OL
Hollin Pierce earned a spot as part of the
On3 "
Top 100 Players in College Football" heading into the 2024 season. The Trenton, New Jersey, native checks in at No. 98 on the list of the nation's best.
Pierce is set to enter the season having started 37 consecutive games on the Scarlet Knights' offensive line, the longest active streak on the roster. That included starting all 13 games at left tackle in 2023 and being voted honorable mention All-Big Ten by the coaches and media. He was also rated the sixth-best tackle in the Big Ten by
Pro Football Focus.
Rutgers led the league in fewest sacks allowed per game (1.08) and ranked fifth in rushing (168.7), paving the way for Big Ten rushing champion RB
Kyle Monangai (1,262 yards). The season was capped by 208 rushing yards and no sacks against in the win over Miami in the Bad Boy Mowers Pinstripe Bowl. The team also set a Big Ten program record with 276 rushing yards in the road win at Indiana on the way to 2,193 for the season, the most for RU since 2007.
The Scarlet Knights were the most improved team in the Big Ten by total offense (+24.1) and one of just four teams in the league to increase its average from 2022.
