PISCATAWAY, N.J. — Rutgers tennis head coach Hilary Ritchie announced another addition to the 2024-25 roster on Thursday afternoon, welcoming sophomore transfer Xintong "Cindy" Zhou from Fordham.
"We are looking forward to having Cindy join our team," Ritchie said. "She had a lot of regional success last season at Fordham. Cindy is a hard worker with a lot of passion. We are excited to welcome her this fall."
Zhou made an immediate impact in the Rams' lineup as a freshman, seeing action in 18 of the team's 22 spring matches. She went 8-5 in singles play, earning victories on courts No. 3, 4 and 5. The Mississauga, Ontario native went 11 matches without a loss, picking up big two-set wins over George Washington, Brown, Richmond and George Mason. Before her time in the Bronx, Zhou enjoyed a successful juniors career. The top prospect ranked as high as No. 302 in ITF Junior Rankings, No. 9 in Canada Junior Rankings and has a career high Universal Tennis Rating of 9.81.
