PISCATAWAY, N.J. – The Rutgers women's basketball team (8-9, 0-6 B1G) was defeated by Nebraska (13-4, 4-2 B1G), 69-62, at Jersey Mike's Arena on Sunday afternoon.
Kiyomi McMiller led all scoring with a career high 33 points off 14 field goals. She also tied her best from beyond the arc with five three-pointers.
Destiny Adams collected another double-double, her third straight and eighth this season. She has already matched her season total from the 2023-24 campaign with at least 12 games remaining. She also swiped away a career high seven steals.
In just her third start back from a leg injury that kept her out for over a year, Awa Sidibe recorded her first double-digit outing of the season, ending with 10 points.
How it Happened
- After Nebraska opened the scoring up, a steal-and-score from JoJo Lacey gave RU its first points of the game.
- The Cornhuskers then scored four straight, until Kiyomi McMiller sank a deep shot from three to keep the game within one.
- McMiller and Nebraska then traded baskets, with the Cornhuskers up 10-9 at the 4:26 media timeout.
- The Huskers added two more layups before Mya Petticord got on the board to keep the game close.
- With just over a minute to go in the first quarter, Destiny Adams drained a deep three pointer to make the score 16-14 with Nebraska ahead.
- Out of the break, Nebraska traded scores with free throws but Adams kept RU in contention, sinking three in a row.
- McMiller then made another three-point shot at 6:49 before the Huskers rattled off a seven-point run.
- McMiller added a jumper to break the streak for Nebraska, but they scored three more to take the double-digit lead.
- However, the Scarlet Knights then went on their own 7-0 run of their own, with another McMiller three-pointer and four points from Awa Sidibe.
- Nebraska scored three more points, but another McMiller buzzer beater kept the game within striking distance as they went to the locker room with the Cornhuskers in control, 36-31.
- Nebraska took the first points of the third quarter, but Rutgers then rattled off another seven-point stretch, capped off by a reverse layup from Adams to bring the Huskers' lead down to one.
- Another three points from Nebraska right before the 5:00 media timeout gave them the four point lead, but Rutgers came soaring right back.
- A steal-and-score from Adams and McMiller both added buckets to give RU its first lead of the game, 44-42, forcing a Nebraska timeout with 2:48 remaining.
- McMiller then traded baskets with the Cornhuskers the rest of the way, as the two teams headed to the final quarter knotted 48-all.
- Nebraska kicked off the scoring in the fourth quarter with a layup, but McMiller immediately matched with her own jumper.
- The Huskers then recorded a three-point play, but McMiller kept the pace with another deep ball.
- The Scarlet Knights regained the lead with a pair of free throws from Sidibe. She went a perfect 6-for-6 from the line on Sunday.
- Nebraska fought back to tie the game once again but a layup from Chyna Cornwell changed the lead in Rutgers favor, 57-55.
- The Cornhuskers' offense picked up however, netting nine consecutive points to take the seven-point lead, 64-57, with 3:21 remaining.
- The Scarlet Knights fought until the end, but the Cornhuskers took the game, 69-62.

Knights Notes
- Kiyomi McMiller scored a career-high of 33 points, her third game with 30+ points this season. She has reached double figures in the last 13 games she has been available for.
- With 12 points versus the Cornhuskers, her 14th double-digit game this campaign and fifth consecutive.
- Adams recorded a career-high seven steals in the contest. She is the first Scarlet Knights to record seven or more takeaways since Tekia Mack ended with eight steals versus Minnesota on Feb. 17, 2021. The senior has recorded three or more steals in eight contests this season, including the last three outings. She leads RU with 42 swipes.
- Awa Sidibe kept up her superb defense with three blocks for her second game in a row.
- Rutgers more steals (11-3) and blocks (4-2) than Nebraska.
- The Scarlet Knights contained Nebraska from beyond the arc, limiting the opposition to just 3-of-22 (14 percent).
- RU won the third quarter to tie the contest. 17-12.
- Sunday's contest consisted of eight lead changes and seven ties, all in the second half of play.
