
Tennis Concludes Day Two of ITA Regionals

PHILADELPHIA — The Rutgers women's tennis team completed day two of the ITA Regionals hosted by the University of Pennsylvania on Friday, Oct. 10.
RU advanced two out of its three singles to the Round of 32, highlighted by Mai Nguyen and Zeynep Ilker.
Duo Mai Nguyen and Naomi Karki continued their win streak from the UNC Charlotte Invite and advanced to the Round of 32 for doubles.
Singles
Nguyen defeated Olivia Corcoran of Villanova 6-2, 7-6. She will face Jo-Leen Saw from the University of Pennsylvania in the round of 32.
Zeynep Ilker won her match against Jordina Cegarra Ramirez of Penn State 6-4, 2-6, 7-5, marking her third win of the tournament.She will face Sophia Wang of Columbia tomorrow.
Karina Jumazhanova will compete in the consolation draw Saturday morning.
Doubles
Returners Mai Nguyen and Naomi Karki won their set against Reagan Mangan and Gabriela Almanza of Saint Francis 8-4. Tomorrow, they will take on Lusia Hepcal Barcan and Petra Koszo of NJIT.
