Tennis Wraps Up Day Two of UNC Charlotte Invite

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — The Rutgers tennis team concluded day two at the UNC Charlotte Invitational in Charlotte, N.C., on Saturday evening. The team brought home six wins.
Reflecting on the day, head coach Hilary Ritchie said, "We've had two very physical and positive days of competition. Our doubles has been particularly strong as the players have executed well at the net." Looking ahead, "Tomorrow will be another challenging day and we are looking forward to the fight," she said.
Doubles
Seven pairs of Scarlet Knights took the courts in doubles, with three securing wins today.
Returner duo Mai Nguyen and Naomi Karki won their first set 6-3, going on to win their second 7-6 (3) later in the day.
Zuzanna Frankowska and Karina Jumazhanova also kept their momentum from yesterday, winning their set 6-3 this Saturday.
Singles
Three Scarlet Knights brought home wins in singles today.
Freshman Savannah Cohen won in straight sets, going 7-6 (4) for both.
Similarly, returner Cindy Zhou gained a win in straight sets, 6-2, 6-4.
Zeynep Ilker secured a win after falling 5-7 in the first set, then scoring 6-4, 6-2.
