Football Loses at No. 1 Ohio State

COLUMBUS, Ohio – Rutgers football (5-6, 2-6) lost at No. 1 Ohio State (11-0, 8-0), 42-9, on Saturday at Ohio Stadium. 

RB Antwan Raymond rushed for 52 yards and his 12th touchdown of the season. Raymond eclipsed the 1,500-yard mark for his career and became the 15th player in program history to record 20 career rushing touchdowns.

LB Dariel Djabome had nine tackles, a tackle-for-loss and a fumble recovery, while DB Bo Mascoe added nine tackles and forced a fumble.

PK Jai Patel drilled a 44-yard field goal in the second quarter, good for his 43rd career make. 

FIRST HALF
While the Buckeyes were able to advance the ball down to the RU one-yard line on their first drive, LB Abram Wright forced a fumble at the goal line that was recovered by Djabome in the end zone for a touchback. After an RU punt, OSU would punch it in on a 15-yard run to take a 7-0 lead. 

The Scarlet Knights drove the ball down the field and Patel got them on the board with a 44-yard field goal in the second quarter.

Ohio State would add another touchdown late in the half to make it 14-3 at the break. 
 
SECOND HALF
After the RU defense forced a punt on the first drive of the half, the Buckeyes would score touchdowns on three straight drives to take a 35-3 advantage.

Raymond punched in a touchdown from one yard away in the fourth to bring the score to 35-9, but OSU would tack on another touchdown late in the contest to finish off the 42-9 victory.
