PISCATAWAY, N.J. – Rutgers volleyball's Lily Bolen collected her 1,000th season assist on Sunday afternoon as the Scarlet Knights took on their seventh nationally ranked opponent in #19 Minnesota at Jersey Mike's Arena.
The Golden Gophers topped RU 25-19, 25-21, 25-16.

- Junior Zora Hardison led RU with nine kills, hitting .312 for the afternoon. Senior Tara Garvey added eight kills, while sophomore Aspen Maxwell and Lexi Visintine contributed seven kills each.
- Sophomore Lily Bolen was just shy of a double-double with 27 helpers and a team-leading nine digs. Bolen became the fourth Scarlet Knight of the rally era to amass 1,000 assists in a season and now stands in fourth on the rally-era season leaders list with 1,007 on the year. She also upped her career mark to 1,290 and moved into fourth on the rally-era career leaders list.
- Maxwell and freshman Imani Howell led the block with a trio of blocks each.
- Â SET 1 (19-25) | Both teams came out of the gate swinging hot. Rutgers connected for a .323 clip, but Minnesota hit .520, committing only two errors on the attack. The opener was tied early on seven occasions, with RU pulling within a point twice midway through the frame. The Scarlet Knights put together back-to-back-to-back points, trailing 13-12 off a kill and an ace from Aspen Maxwell and a point from Zora Hardison on the slide. Tara Garvey broke through with RU down 14-13, but the Golden Gophers outscored the hosts 6-2 to build their lead to the end.
- SET 2 (21-25) | Rutgers opened with a 5-1 lead with six different Scarlet Knights getting into the mix. Minnesota came back to knot the score at 8-8, but a solo block from Lily Bolen put RU back in front. A swing from Natalie Robinson put the Scarlet Knights up 10-8, however, six straight on an 8-1 run pushed the Golden Gophers in front for good. Minnesota led by as many as six, but RU made a late push with a 7-3 burst. Lexi Visintine collected a pair of kills and Bolen served up an ace to cap the outpouring as RU narrowed the gap to two down 22-20, prompting a Golden Gopher timeout before taking the 2-0 advantage.
- SET 3 (16-25) | The Scarlet Knights owned a 9-6 edge to start, but the Golden Gophers countered by going on a 6-0 run to take a 12-9 lead. After Minnesota went up 14-11, Rutgers scored four unanswered to reclaim the lead with a Maxwell swing putting RU ahead 15-14. Visintine's seventh kill of the afternoon knotted the score at 16-16, but the visitors rattled off nine consecutive points to win the match.
- Rutgers volleyball closes out the season next week with Oregon and Washington.
