Tennis Completes Day One at Big Green Invitational

HANOVER, N.H. — The Rutgers women's tennis team wrapped up day one of play at the Big Green Invitational hosted by Dartmouth on Friday, Nov. 7. The Scarlet Knights faced host school Dartmouth, along with UMass.
Doubles
Six pairs of Scarlet Knights took the courts in doubles, winning five out of the six sets.
Returners Naomi Karki and Karina Jumazhanova won their match today, 6-4. Zeynep Ilker and freshman Stella Schmitz continued the trend, winning their match 6-4, as well.
Mai Nguyen and Zuzanna Frankowska won 6-3. Similarly, Cindy Zhou and Savannah Cohen found victory, 6-3.
Ilker and Jumazhanova also secured a win in their doubles match, 7-5.
Singles
The Scarlet Knights earned four wins in singles today, with all three freshmen finding victory on the courts.
Jumazhanova won her first set 7-5. She fell in the second, but eventually went on to secure a win in her third set, 10-8.
Schmitz took home a win after going 6-4 and 10-8 in her second and third sets.
Cohen found success in straight sets, winning 6-3, 6-2. Miranda Case won her second and third sets to claim victory, 6-3, 10-7.
