Dec 11 | Football
PISCATAWAY, N.J. – DB Jett Elad and RB Antwan Raymond both represent Rutgers football as two of the five finalists for the 2025 Jon Cornish Trophy. The trophy is presented annually to the most outstanding Canadian player in NCAA football.

JETT ELAD
Elad is a Cornish Trophy finalist for the third straight season. Starting all 12 games in the secondary, he led the Scarlet Knights with 80 tackles and two interceptions this season, adding three tackles-for-loss, a forced fumble, fumble recovery and blocked punt. From Mississauga, Ontario, Canada, he had at least five tackles in nine games with a season-high 11 stops versus Penn State, bringing in interceptions versus Maryland and Norfolk State. He recovered a fumble late at Purdue to help set up the winning field goal, while blocking a punt that was returned for a score versus Norfolk State. Elad was voted honorable mention All-Big Ten in the coaches vote.

ANTWAN RAYMOND
Raymond, one of 10 semifinalists for the Doak Walker National Running Back Award, finished the season with 244 carries for 1,241 yards and 15 touchdowns (13 rushing, two receiving). The rushing total ranked third in the Big Ten and eighth most in a season in program history. From Montréal, Québec, Canada, he had four games with at least 100 rushing yards, topped by a 240-yard performance on a school-record-tying 41 attempts in the win over Maryland. That included 105 rushing yards in the fourth quarter to earn Doak Walker National Running Back of the Week. He scored at least one touchdown in 10 games in ranking third in the league in trips to the end zone, second with 122.2 all-purpose yards per game and sixth nationally with 244 rushing attempts. The performance merited Second Team All-Big Ten honors in both the media and coaches vote, while also earning Academic All-Big Ten status.
Named after Canadian Football Hall of Famer Jon Cornish, the award was established in 2017 by trustees L. David Dube and Jim Mullin to celebrate Canadian achievement on U.S. collegiate fields. The trophy is supported by NFL Canada and Krown Produce, with a panel comprising Canadian football media, professional scouting representatives and program evaluators. The winner will be announced Dec. 17.
