Rowing Ranked No. 14 in Preseason Pocock CRCA Coaches Poll

NEW BRUNSWICK, N.J. - Rutgers rowing has been ranked No. 14 in the country in the first Pocock Collegiate Rowing Coaches Association (CRCA) Poll of the 2025 season.
The Scarlet Knights have been ranked in the CRCA Top 20 poll in each season under seventh-year head coach Justin Price since making its debut in the national rankings for the first time in program history on April 2, 2019.
Additionally, Rutgers has been ranked No. 13 in the inaugural Junior Rowing News Media Poll, compiled by a group of experienced writers, commentators, podcasters, and photographers from across the sport. The complete JRN Media Poll can be viewed here.
The Scarlet Knights placed 14th in the country at the NCAA Championships after their fifth straight year qualifying for the national regatta. The highlight of the championships was their 10th-place finish by the Varsity 4 boat, followed by a 14th-place for the 2nd Varsity 8 and 15th for the Varsity 8 on Harsha Lake in Ohio. Women's rowing gained a total of 55 points over the championship weekend, showing an increase from the previous year's team finish.
Returning to this year's squad is junior Victoria Grieder, who earned Second Team All-America honors from the CRCA and sophomore Lily Wood, who received an honorable mention on All-America after their performances with the Varsity 8 during the 2024 season.
Rutgers completed the 2024 Big Ten Championships in third place, tying for its highest finish at the conference regatta under the guidance of seventh-year head coach, Justin Price. At the championship, the Scarlet Knights won three medals including a Big Ten gold for the third year in a row, thanks to the 3rd Varsity 4 collecting a win for their second year in a row. The Varsity 4 also raced to silver, while the 2nd Varsity 8 claimed bronze. Two of the Varsity 8 Scarlet Knights were named All-Big Ten with Lily Wood taking First Team honors and Annie Wertheimer earning a Second Team distinction.
The RU women's team also claimed two Big Ten Boat of the week honors in 2024, the 3rd Varsity 4 on May 7 after a gold at the Eastern Sprints and the 2nd Varsity 4 after wins over No. 8 Penn State and No. 11 Ohio State at the Big Ten/Ivy Dust Up in March.
