PISCATAWAY, N.J. — Destiny Adams and Kiyomi McMiller were both selected for Big Ten Postseason Awards, announced on the Big Ten Network Tuesday afternoon.Â
For the second season in a row, Adams has been selected to the All-Big Ten Second team (Coaches & Media) while McMiller was chosen as an Honorable Mention (Media).  Â
Awa Sidibe was also named the Rutgers women's basketball Sportsmanship Honoree.Â
The Second Team All-Big Ten nod is the second of Adams's career as she was also named to the Second Team (Coaches) and as well as an Honorable Mention (Media) last season. Â
Adams has been dominant on both ends of the floor for RU this season. She leads the Scarlet Knights and ranks seventh in the Big Ten with 17.6 points per game. Â
She also ranks fifth in the conference averaging 9.6 rebounds and tops the stats averaging 2.5 steals. She registered double digit boards in 15 contests and three or more takeaways 12 times. Â
She has reached double-digit points in 25 games this slate, including six outings with 20+ and three with 30+. The Manchester, New Jersey native also finished the regular season with 14 double-doubles, the third most in the Big Ten. Â
Adams kicked off the 2024-25 season with a historic performance over NJIT (Nov. 10), recording a career best double-double of 36 points and 22 rebounds. She became the first player in program history with over 30 points and more than 20 rebounds in a regular season game in over 12 seasons. Her 36 points set the new Jersey Mike's Arena record and tied for 8th most points in a single game in program history.Â
In addition, Adams had 30 points and 15 boards in the game prior versus Cornell (Nov. 7), to make her the first Scarlet Knight since Sue Wicks (1988) to net back-to-back 30+ point games.   Â
Adams earned the first Big Ten Player of the Week (Nov. 11) honor of her career in addition to being selected as one of the USBWA Ann Meyers Drysdale National Players of the Week and an AP Player of the Week Honorable Mention for her performance. Â
She was also named to the USBWA 2024-25 Ann Meyers Drysdale Award Midseason Watch List in the beginning of February. Â
In the final game of the regular season, she recorded 19 points, 14 rebounds and a career best seven assists. She is the first Scarlet Knight (man or woman) in 15 seasons to reach those marks as well as the only women's player in the Big Ten this season. Â
McMiller made an immediate impact since arriving "On The Banks" in the Big Ten. Â
She is currently averaging 18.7 points per game and has record 30+ points on three occasions to rank among the top freshmen in the country and the best in the Big Ten. In addition, she has netted 20 or more points in seven outings this season and double digits in all but three games.  Â
The Silver Spring, Maryland native became the first Scarlet Knight since 2020 to win back-to-back Big Ten Weekly awards as she was named the conference Freshman of the Week on Dec. 16 and Dec. 23.  Â
McMiller was also named the All-MET Player of the Week and the USBWA Tamika Catchings Freshman of the Week on Dec. 17.Â
She ranks second on the team with three double-doubles but paces the team in three-pointers (43) and assists (63).Â
