PISCATAWAY, N.J. — Rutgers women's basketball head coach Coquese Washington has added another talented guard to the 2025-26 roster in sophomore transfer Lauryn Swann. She comes "On The Banks" after spending her freshman campaign at Arizona. Â
"Lauryn Swann has the speed, toughness and skill to dominate both offensively and defensively," said Washington. "She is a three-level scorer and plays with a high degree of confidence. She is a true combo guard possessing a masterful ability to create for herself and her teammates. She is really fun to watch, and our fans are going to love cheering her on."Â
After a successful rookie season, Swann was named to the 2025 Big 12 All-Freshman Team as well as selected as a Big 12 All State Bench Performance of the Week (Jan. 23) and a Big 12 Freshman of the Week twice (Nov. 18, Jan. 6). Â
She appeared in 31 games and made five starts, averaging 8.0 points per game. Swann recorded 12 double digit outings and led the team in scoring five times. Â
The Queens, New York native scored a career high 22 points against Utah, (Dec. 31) knocking down a career-best six three-pointers and shooting 85 percent from the field.Â
Swann made 50-of-128 three pointers during the 2024-25 slate. Only six Wildcats have made more three-pointers in a campaign in program history.Â
Prior to her time in Tucson, Swann attended Long Island Lutheran High School where she averaged 13 points, three assists and three rebounds per game as a senior. She was a four-star recruit and ranked 81st in the class of 2024 by ESPN HoopGurlz.Â
