"We are so excited to welcome Nick to Rutgers, adding his wealth of experience and experience to our staff," said Butler, who begins her eighth season at the helm of the Scarlet Knight program. "He has been successful in all his stops, including at the Power 4 level. He will be able to contribute to all areas of the program, from offense to the bullpen. He enjoys recruiting and developing student-athletes, which is everything we need to be successful here "On The Banks'."

French's other stops include spending the 2024 season as Director of Player Development at Georgia, leading Bryant University as the head coach from 2019-23, as well as stints with Arizona, Memphis, Holy Cross, Simmons (Mass.) College, and Piedmont (Pa.) College.

While with the national runner-up Diamondbacks in 2010, French served as the volunteer assistant coach and oversaw the daily operations of the team.

French also worked with the pitching staff for four seasons at Holy Cross, which included Gennifer Durham throwing the first-perfect game in school history and only the second in Patriot League history in 2013.

As an assistant coach at Memphis, French was in the dugout for the program's first NCAA Regional berth in program history. The Tigers also achieved a school record 10-game win streak in 2011.

A 2005 graduate of Emerson College with a degree in journalism, French also worked with the softball program as an undergraduate.
