Women's Golf Finishes at Canadian Collegiate Invitational

AURORA, ONTARIO – Rutgers women's golf wrapped up action at the Canadian Collegiate Invitational on Tuesday in Aurora, Ontario. With the tournament shortened to 36 rounds due to Monday's inclement weather, the Scarlet Knights finished 11th at Beacon Hall Golf Club.
After an even 72 on Monday, redshirt senior Grace Lu led RU with a tied-for-31st finish in the 66-player field. Sophomore Joline Truong moved up 12 spots to tie for 34th thanks to her one-over-par 73 on Tuesday.
No. 18 Auburn won the team title with its 16-under-par 560, followed by host Kent State (-10) and Ole Miss (+1). Kent State's Veronika Kedroňová earned an individual title after she carded an eight-under-par 136 (66-70).
Round 2 – Tuesday, September 23rd
Weather: Scattered Thunderstorms, Temps in high-60s, 5-15 mph winds
Truong, an Ontario native, played consistent golf on Tuesday, finishing the day with a one-over-par 73. Her performance included 15 pars and a birdie on hole 18. After her strong start on Monday, Lu followed with a five-over-par 77, rolling in birdies on holes four, seven and 12.
Junior Emily James also carded a five-over-par 77 to finish 46th, while rookie Elizabeth Ryu ended her tournament tied for 59th after a nine-over-par 81. Due to illness, junior Krystal Li, also an Ontario native, did not compete.
Round 1 – Monday, September 22nd

Lu got off to a hot start on Monday, opening with two birdies in her first five holes of action. Lu also rolled in a birdie on the par-5 No. 4 hole to finish with an even 72.
"I really focused on sticking to my game plan today," Lu said. "It is a challenging golf course with tricky greens, so I was happy to make good pars. All parts of my game felt steady even through the long day. We're excited to take on the course again tomorrow."
James had a birdie on hole 12 to tie for 37th after the opening round, while sophomore Truong produced birdies on holes 10 and 14 to move to tied for 46. Truong, a native of Ontario, entered play after a top 20 finish at the Wolverine Invitational on September 7 in Ann Arbor, Michigan.
Ryu rounded out the team scorecard 56th.
