No. 16 Wrestling Beats Rider, 21-12

LAWRENCEVILLE, N.J. – No. 16 Rutgers wrestling (10-5, 3-3) defeated Rider (9-5, 4-0), 21-12, on Saturday night at Alumni Gymnasium.
The Scarlet Knights won six bouts on the night, including five of the final six. No. 20 Andrew Barbosa (165) and No. 21 Shane Cartagena-Walsh (184) each won with bonus points, while No. 27 Dylan Shawver (133), No. 29 Anthony White (157), Ryan Ford (174) and No. 19 Hunter Catka (HWT) all won by decision to help RU beat the Broncs for the 11th straight meeting and keep possession of the B1G-MAC Trophy.
Rider won three of the first four bouts and jumped out to a 9-3 lead. After White's victory at 157, Barbosa picked up a major decision at 165 to give Rutgers a lead it would not relinquish.
Cartagena-Walsh all but put things away at 184, dominating his way to a 21-6 tech fall in the third period. Catka then polished things off with a win at heavyweight to close out the dual.
