PISCATAWAY, N.J. – Representing Rutgers football, P Jakob Anderson and RB Antwan Raymond both earned a spot on the College Sports Communicators Academic All-District Team® released today. To be eligible, student-athletes must hold a GPA of 3.5 or better with at least sophomore status, plus compete in 90 percent of games or start at least 66 percent of contests. JAKOB ANDERSON
An honorable mention All-Big Ten pick in the media vote, Anderson helped the Scarlet Knights rank second in the Big Ten and 17th nationally with a 41.85 net punt average. He forced 17 fair catches with only one touchback in 33 attempts. The Aussie landed 10 kicks inside the 20, including a season-long 68-yard attempt downed at the four against Iowa, a 65-yarder stopped at the two at No. 1 Ohio State and another downed at the one at Illinois. Anderson, also an Academic All-Big Ten honoree, and the punt unit allowed only five returns on the season.

ANTWAN RAYMOND
Raymond, one of 10 semifinalists for the Doak Walker National Running Back Award, winner of the Cornish Trophy as the top Canadian in college football and a Fourth Team All-America pick by Phil Steele, finished the season with 244 carries for 1,241 yards and 15 touchdowns (13 rushing, two receiving). The rushing total ranked third in the Big Ten, 14th nationally and eighth most in a season in program history. He had four games with at least 100 rushing yards, topped by a 240-yard performance on a school-record-tying 41 attempts in the win over Maryland. He scored at least one touchdown in 10 games in ranking third in the league in trips to the end zone, second with 122.2 all-purpose yards per game and eighth nationally with 244 rushing attempts. The performance merited Second Team All-Big Ten honors in both the media and coaches vote, while also earning Academic All-Big Ten status.
