Cross Country Closes Out Princeton Fall Classic

PRINCETON, N.J. ā Rutgers cross country stayed in-state for its final tune-up race in advance of the Big Ten Championships, traveling to the Joe Handelman '52 Fall Classic on the Princeton campus on Friday, Oct. 16. The men competed in an 8k race on the Meadows Campus course, while the women finished the 6k race.

The Scarlet Knights chose to run a smaller squad in Princeton, opting instead to rest most of the unit on both the men's and women's sides.

Gianna Hernandez paced the women's team finishing 62nd with a time of 22:26.8. The remaining scorers included Kelly Shanklin (130th, 23:54.2), Melissa Keenan (134th, 23:57.3), Michaela Schlemo (137th, 24:03.4) and Jasmine Hall (160th, 25:42.5). Owen Martin ran the top time on the men's side in 26:47.4 (140th), followed by Jack Moran in 26:54.1 (143rd).
