EAST BRUNSWICK, N.J. — The Rutgers tennis team (3-1) excelled in its doubleheader on Friday, defeating Delaware (4-3) at home and Seton Hall (4-0) on the road.

"This season is about playing for something bigger than ourselves," Mai Nguyen said. "We're playing for each other. I could feel that my teammates and I were all fighting and cheering for each other today. That energy helps us all to compete and it all came together today."

Doubles

Rutgers dropped the doubles point, but the No. 64-ranked pair of Mai Nguyen and Zuzanna Frankowska won their match at the top lineup spot, 6-1, to go 3-0.

Singles

The Scarlet Knights picked up four singles wins to come back and clinch the match win.

Frankowska and Savannah Cohen earned straight set victories on the second and sixth courts, respectfully, within minutes of each other to give RU the 2-1 edge.

Zeynep Ilker followed up with another strong performance at the No. 4 spot and Nguyen clinched the win with a dominant 6-4, 6-3 win at the top spot.

Rutgers won all three of the doubles matches, including the new freshmen duo of Stella Schmitz and Savannah Cohen on the third court.

Mai Nguyen and Zuzanna Frankowska recorded their fourth win of the season together to stay undefeated.

Singles

RU clinched their second victory of the day with singles wins at the No. 2, 3 and 5 spots.

Rookie Savannah Cohen was the lone Scarlet Knight to get two singles wins on Friday and Karina Jumazhanova got her first win of the season on court No. 2.
