
Gymnastics Beats Illinois at Big Four Meet

MINNEAPOLIS – Rutgers gymnastics finished Sunday's Big Four meet with a score of 195.750. The Scarlet Knights finished third out of four teams, beating Illinois (195.650), while No. 13 Minnesota (197.700) and No. 11 Michigan State (196.625) took first and second, respectively.
Beginning the meet on beam, RU posted a 48.725. Delaney Adrian had a strong start, leading off with a 9.800, while Gabrielle Dildy matched her with a 9.800 in the anchor spot.
On floor, the Scarlet Knights once again eclipsed the 49-point mark, earning a 49.075. Adrian posted a 9.825, followed by a 9.900 from Dildy and a 9.850 from Emily Leese in the anchor spot. With her score, Dildy has now posted a 9.9+ in each of her last four floor routines.
On vault, Rutgers scored a 48.825. Reagan Schenkel, Rachael Riley and Gabrielle Dildy all earned 9.825's in the event.
Rounding out the on bars, RU earned a 49.125 for the team's highest score of the season and first time above 49. Campbell Earley earned a season-high 9.825 in the second spot. Adrian (9.825) and Dildy (9.850) both earned strong scores before Schenkel anchored with a career-high 9.875.
With the win over the Fighting Illini, RU picked up its second conference win of the season after defeated No. 24 Maryland earlier in the season.
The Scarlet Knights will compete in a pair of quad meets before heading out to Big Ten Championships from March 20-21 in Illinois.
