PISCATAWAY, N.J. – Graduate student Emily Leese was named Big Ten Co-Specialist of the Week by the conference on Tuesday. Leese earns the accolade after a career day at the Pink Invitational Saturday.
Returning for her final season after recovering from an achilles injury, Leese set the program record on vault with a 9.950. The mark broke her previous shared record of 9.925, which was set in March 2024 prior to injury. In Saturday's meet, Leese also earned a 9.925 on floor, tying her career high on the event. Both of her performances were the best of the season in the respective events, as she helped lead RU to a team victory in the quad meet.
Rutgers has one regular season meet remaining, hosting the Rutgers March Quad on Friday night at Jersey Mike's Arena against Western Michigan, New Hampshire and LIU.
