O’Sullivan Earns Big Ten Athlete of the Week Honors

PISCATAWAY, N.J. – Rutgers pole vaulter Brian O'Sullivan was named the Big Ten Co-Field Athlete of the Week for his effort in the team's season opener at the USF Alumni Invitational in Tampa, Florida.
O'Sullivan broke the school record in the pole vault, clearing 5.55m (18' 2.5") to win the event. The height was an NCAA East First Round qualifying mark and ranked tied for first in the country.
The Scarlet Knights will continue the outdoor season with another split weekend with the distance group traveling to the Raleigh Relays (March 26-28) in North Carolina, while the rest of the squad will compete at the UCF Knights Invitational in Orlando (March 27-28).
O'Sullivan shared the Big Ten Field Athlete of the Week award with Iowa long jumper Emmanuel Njoku.
