
B1G Championship Results Lift Women's Rowing To No. 10

PISCATAWAY, N.J. - Coming off seven total medals, including gold for the Third Varsity 8 and six silver, the Rutgers women's rowing team moved up to No. 10 in the week eleven CRCA Pocock Collegiate Rowing Association Poll released on Tuesday.
The 2026 NCAA Division I Rowing Championship selections will be announced on Tuesday, May 19 at 5 p.m. The NCAA Championships will take place May 29-31 at Lake Lanier Olympic Park in Gainesville, Georgia.
Rutgers' Third Varsity 8 claimed a Big Ten title as the Scarlet Knights finished second in the team standings for the second straight year at the 2026 Big Ten Championships at Eagle Creek Reservoir this past Sunday morning.
Rutgers took gold in the final race of the morning in the Third Varsity, keeping Big Ten Champion Washington from sweeping. Natalie Hammond, Satiana Alvarez, Krissy Xavier, Holly Stoker, Isabel Corbett. Anna Eizhvertin, Nina Rozek, Kelsey Lavelle and coxswain Charlotte Weaver took the lead early and stayed in front with a 3.403-second margin of victory.
The Third Varsity 8's title marked RU's first Big Ten Championship in the event and fourth boat to win gold at the championships, joining the Fourth Varsity 8 in 2022 and the Third Varsity 4 in 2023 and 2024.
RU's Varsity 8, Second Varsity 8, Fourth Varsity 8, Varsity 4, Second Varsity 4 and Third Varsity 4 all captured silver.
Five Scarlet Knights earned All-Big Ten Honors. First Team All-Big Ten went to Chiara Saccomando, Lily Wood and Elena Moran. Wood picked up third team honors for the third-straight year, while Saccomando landed on her second all-conference team after earning second team last season. All-Big Ten Second Team honors went to Fallon DeWitt and Beatrice Colclough.
