
Northrop, Pruitt & Roetger Named To B1G All-Freshman Team

PISCATAWAY, N.J. – Rutgers women's rowers Juliann Northrop, Megan Pruitt and Hannah Roetger were named to the Big Ten All-Freshman Team in a vote of the league's 11 head coaches, it was announced on Wednesday.
All three Scarlet Knights helped #10 Rutgers to a second-place finish at the 2026 Big Ten Championships last weekend.
Pruitt was the coxswain of the Second Varsity 8 that captured silver at the championships. The Scarlet Knights placed second behind #4 Washington and finished a boat length ahead of third-place #15 Michigan.
Northrop rowed in the two-seat and Roetger was in the three-seat of RU's Varsity 4 that also claimed silver. The two Scarlet Knights helped the boat to a second-place finish, 4.886 seconds behind #4 Washington, and topped #14 Ohio State by over eight seconds.
Rutgers women's rowing returns to the water at the 2026 NCAA Championships on Lake Lanier Olympic Park in Gainesville, Georgia, marking the seventh straight season the Scarlet Knights have qualified for the national regatta. RU's Varsity 8, 2nd Varsity 8, and Varsity 4 boats begin competition on Friday, May 29, in flighted heats, with semifinals slated for Saturday, May 30, before the competition wraps up with championship finals on Sunday, May 31.
