PISCATAWAY, N.J. — Head coach Gary Redus II announced the signing of Hope Masonius to the 2026-27 roster Friday afternoon. A native of Spring Lake, Masonius spent the last two seasons with the Bucknell.
"Getting Hope continues our trend of bringing Jersey kids home," Redus said. "Her family's roots run deep in New Jersey basketball, and we are honored to be a part of that legacy. It is rare to find a player who brings toughness and competitiveness to practice every single day. We know she is going to work hard, be the best teammate possible and lead the right way."
During her sophomore campaign, the 5-foot-9 guard appeared in 23 games while making seven starts. After missing her freshman season due to injury (2024-25), Masonius averaged 2.3 points and 1.6 rebounds per game in her first collegiate slate.
She posted a career-high 14 points at Vermont (Dec. 5) and recorded career bests of eight rebounds and 10 assists against Gwynedd Mercy University (Dec. 20). In addition, Masonius finished the season with 31 assists and 19 steals.
Before beginning her collegiate career, Masonius starred at Manasquan High School, where she became a 1,000-point scorer and helped lead the program to state championships in 2022 and 2024. Following her senior season, she earned First Team All-Group State honors along with Third Team All-Group II recognition. She was also named First Team All-Shore Conference and First Team All-Division (B-Coastal).
Masonius comes from a decorated athletic family with nine siblings, including sister Faith Masonius, who played basketball at Maryland and Seton Hall. Her mother also served as an assistant coach under Geno Auriemma UConn and currently serves as the founder and director of New Jersey Rise Basketball.
